Barcelona is, among many other things, a city of festivals. Every year, the Catalan capital hosts events of all kinds that attract thousands of visitors: Barcelona Poesia (Barcelona Poeatry) in May, Sónar in June, the Grec Festival in July or the International Jazz Festival in October.
However, the most popular of all is, without a doubt, Barcelona's quintessential music festival, the Primavera Sound.
The 2018 edition of Primavera Sound, the 17th, will take place between May 30 and June 3 at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona. The organization offers different types of tickets: 3-day passes, day tickets, discount tickets for residents... However, you have to take into account that 3-day VIP tickets and day tickets that match any of the headliners will run out shortly after going on sale and you have to run to get one. This year has not been different; and it does not surprise us.
The line up for Primavera Sound 2018 includes artists of the size of Arctic Monkeys (who managed to sell out the day tickets for Saturday), A$AP Rocky, performing on the same day, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Beach House or Chvrches, to mention some. In addition, we will also have the chance to enjoy "Primavera a la ciutat" (Spring in the city), which includes concerts in different venues in Barcelona, such as the Sala Apolo. This year the festival also includes free concerts during the days leading up to it, with performances by artists such as Belle and Sebastian.
Taking into account that the Primavera Sound brought together more than 200,000 attendees in its 2017 edition, we recommend that those lucky ones who have managed to buy tickets for the festival, also book accommodation in advance. The apartments in the center of Barcelona of Uma Suites are a great option to feel at home and have no schedules during the Primavera Sound.
