December is here! A month synonymous with more free time, Christmas lights on the streets, chilly weather, and many plans. From UMA, we want to encourage those activities that are only available during this time of year, and we have chosen the best ones so that everyone can enjoy them: adults and children, together as a family, with friends, and for all budgets. Are you in?
What would Christmas be without Christmas markets? And not just any market, but one that all the foodies in the city anxiously wait for: ALL THOSE FOOD MARKET (December 2nd and 3rd). The culinary festival of Barcelona´s artisans and entrepreneurs returns with its Christmas edition and this time in the gardens and Sala Comillas Room of the Maritime Museum of Barcelona. An advice? Go a bit early and enjoy one of the most anticipated events of the year; you will not regret it.
In Museu: an international idea also found in the city of Barcelona. It consists of visits around the museums thought and created for the entire family. Visits not only to the spaces where the collections are found, but also the restoration workshops and other restricted spaces. Eleven museums participate in the initiative. Among them: MUHBA Collections Center, El Born CCM, Pedralbes Monastery, Barcelona Design Museum, Barcelona Ethnological Museum, Museum of World Cultures, Museum of Music and many others.
Can a story-book be cool? Yes, it can. For example, the one in Casa Orlandai in the Sarrià neighborhood. Every Friday under the stairs of this civic center you will hear stories that will make you daydream. Apt for the little ones and the not so little ones. You can’t miss this encounter every Friday during the month of December at one of the most beautiful buildings in the upper area of the city.
Want to see the sky from the El Guinardó neighborhood? The Municipal Planetarium located in this neighborhood organizes activities for astronomy lovers. Among these activities there is a guided tour that explains what you can see from earth while looking at the sky, the planets in the solar system, and other interesting topics. This activity is done once every quarter, so if you want to experience it this December, we recommend booking a spot.
We have the perfect plan for all those nature lovers. The routes through the Botanical Garden of Barcelona. A visit through “four continents" in a unique environment: the mountain of Montjuïc. Fourteen hectares in which you will be able to see plants from all around the world as well as a selection of bonsai. An exceptional landscape and definitely an unforgettable walk.
